Safety Gates for Platform Ladders

An optional safety gate is available which fully encloses the operator on the platform. This is a great safety feature and quite often is a standard requirement on some work sites, particularly within the mining industry. The safety ladder can still be folded up whilst the safety gate is attached to the ladder. Because the ALLWELD work platform is quite large, there is plenty of room to move even when the yellow safety gate is shut behind you.

Handrails for Folding Platform Ladders

Yellow handrails create a safety ladder.  Yellow powder coated handrails are an optional extra for ALLWELD folding platform ladders.  They simply bolt on and can assist the operator to ascend and descend the ladder. This option is in addition to the existing grab rails which come standard on the ladder.

Automatic spring operated castors (LD Castors) are available for some models

LD castors available for Platform ladders

Automatic spring operated castors (LD Castors) are available for models FPS06 (2 step) up to FPS18 (6 step) Folding Platform Ladders.  Retractable castors make shifting and positioning the platform ladder easy. As the operator steps off the ladder, the castors automatically engage to raise the ladder so it can be rolled into position.  To disengage the castors simply stand back on the step.

Lever action castors (HD Castors) for 6 to 11 step folding platform ladders

HD castors available for Platform Ladders

Lever action castors (HD Castors) are available for models FPS18WB (6 step Wide Base) up to FPS33 (11 step) Folding Platform Ladders.  A lever system is engaged by the operator by simply shifting the lever.  This is a superior system for the larger platform ladders and offers maximum stability.

Safety and Quality

ALLWELD Industrial Ladders have a big focus on safety.  Wide non-slip steps combined with full length grab rails up each side of the ladder contribute to the high safety rating of the ALLWELD Platform ladder. In addition the optional yellow safety gate reduces the risk of falling off the ladder and the bolt on yellow handrails further increases the safety rating.
